We enjoy being active in our community and sharing music with diverse audiences. We also appreciate having the opportunity to learn about various aspects of music at workshops facilitated by guest experts. We welcome you to join us at any of the activities posted here. Regular Rehearsals

Concert and Sing-Along at The Finnish Home

We were so happy to return to the Finnish Home for one our regular concert and sing-alongs on Wednesday, September 09, 2026.

It brings us joy to share our music and singing with you. We look forward to visiting with you again.

Monthly Concerts and Sing-Alongs in Oppenheimer Park

We were excited to return to Oppenheimer Park for one of our favourite activities – monthly concerts and sing-alongs.

Our performances were held on the first Tuesday of each month in front of the Field House in the park. Everyone was welcome.

Choral Singing Workshops at the MPA Society

Members of the Highs and Lows Choir and the MPA Society enjoyed singing with each other and with Highs and Lows Director Earle as he led Choral Singing Workshops for us on Mondays, May 11, May 18, June 01, and July 27, 2026. We learned about how to better sing in unison and in harmony with each other.

All are looking forward to future workshops together.

Fundraising Concert

Singing at BC Schizophrenia Society’s Voices of Hope Event

We sang a short concert as part of the BC Schizophrenia Society’s Voices of Hope: From Expression to Understanding event on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at the Cultch Historic Theatre. We appreciated hearing the perspectives and insights of those with Schizophrenia and psychosis and from those who are caregivers for those with these brain illnesses. We also enjoyed the wonderful treats.

Millennium Tower – Concert and Sing-Along

We were happy to again perform songs from our repertoire and lead a sing-along at Millennium Tower on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

We enjoy your enthusiastic participation, joyful reception of our music, kindness to our honorary infant member of the choir, and the wonderful refreshments after the performance.

We look forward to visiting your home again.

Annual General Meeting + Fundraising Committee Meeting

Choir members met on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 for our Annual General Meeting.

We reviewed last year’s minutes, listened to reports from different choir members, reviewed our financial statements, and expressed appreciation for all of the work many of our members have done to support the choir.

We continue to seek out new funding sources as we no longer receive grants from the BC Government and recently learned we were not receiving a grant from the City of Vancouver this year. After the AGM was officially adjourned, we held a second meeting to discuss our fundraising concert and other fundraising ideas.

Latin American Seniors – Mother’s Day Concert and Sing-Along

Thank you to the Latin American Seniors at the Gathering Place Community Centre for inviting us to perform a concert and joining us for a sing-along at their Mother’s Day celebration on May 08, 2026.

Thank you also for sharing your yummy potluck lunch with us!

We always look forward to singing for and with you and hope to do so soon again.

Kiwanis Care Centre – Concert and Sing-Along

We were thrilled to be invited back to the Kiwanis Care Centre on April 28, 2026 for another concert and sing-along with the residents, including a long-time member of the Highs and Lows.

We appreciated the warm welcome, the residents singing and dancing with us, and Mango (the parrot) joining in on the fun with notes of his own.

Guest Performance – Inchoiring Minds Concert

Thank you to the Inchoiring Minds (one of Earle’s other choirs)! We appreciate you inviting us to guest sing at your concert on Mon., April 13, 2026. We enjoyed sharing our music with you, having you sing with us, and especially your beautiful singing.

Renfrew-Collingwood Seniors Centre – Concert and Sing-Along

What a wonderful afternoon we had at the Renfrew-Collingwood Seniors Centre on Thurs., Dec. 11, 2025!

MPA Society’s 2025 Holiday Dinner – Concert and Sing-Along

Once again, we sang for our suppers at the MPA Society’s annual Members Holiday Dinner, where we led a sing-along of holiday music with our fellow dinner guests on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

Thank you again to the MPA for inviting us to this event and to everyone for adding their voices to our sing-along.

Carnegie Centre’s Balmoral Site – Concert and Sing-Along

Thank you to the Carnegie Centre for inviting to another holiday concert and sing-along on Tuesday, December 09, 2025.

Concert and Sing-Along at the Kiwanis Care Centre

We were thrilled to finally perform a concert and lead a sing-along at the Kiwanis Care Centre on November 25, 2025. The Kiwanis Care Centre is home to one of our semi-retired choir members.

Thank you to everyone at the home for your warm welcome and your enthusiastic participation on our sing-along, with a special shoutout to the parrot who added her notes to ours.

Guest Singing at Saint Faith’s Holiday Fundraiser
